Bucks Women Finish Season with Emphatic Win

Bucks Women finished their season with an enormous 230-run win over Cambridgeshire on Sunday in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Molly Carter cashed in on the opportunity, racking up an impressive 76 alongside Afra Rose Mohamed and Cara Duggan.

The in-form Tegan Stockdale unfortunately fell early in the innings for just 12.

Afra batted brilliantly before falling four runs short of her half-century, with Charlotte Aylmore claiming her first wicket.

Captain Duggan then took apart the Cambridgeshire bowling attack, finding the ropes 12 times on her way to a sublime maiden century.

Tilly Fellows continued the onslaught of boundaries alongside Duggan, smashing five fours and one maximum before her quickfire half-century was halted after just 31 balls.

Duggan was excellent, and alongside Megs Woodward, Bucks racked up a huge total of 347/4 from their 50 overs.

The home side did not get off to a desirable start, losing two wickets inside the opening 10 overs, with Nina Jerman and Jessica Mccrum dismissed.

Afra and Kertha Kethes were the pick of the Bucks bowlers, taking seven wickets between them for very few runs.

Despite spirited knocks from Kelly Haynes (33) and Millie Rawlins (22) in the middle order, Bucks kept things incredibly tight, conceding just four extras, and made quick work of the lower order.

Kertha and Carys Gerber took the remaining wickets, bowling Cambridgeshire Women out for 117 and sealing a big 230-run victory, while finishing their Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign in third place.

Bucks Men Secure Third Division Title in Four Years

Bucks Men have a chance to make it three National Counties Cluberly Championship titles in four years following a resounding eight-wicket victory over Cambridgeshire on Tuesday.
This result, plus nearest rivals Suffolk's failure to beat Staffordshire means that Bucks will again play Western Division champions Devon in the Championship final at West Bromwich Dartmouth from September 6-9th.
Bucks, who chose field first, were held up on the first day by excellent half-centuries from Cambridgeshire's Tom Cullen (86) and Will Routledge (76).
Skipper Conner Haddow returned 4-90 in a marathon 33-over spell, while High Wycombe seamer Liam Bulteel, one of three Championship debutants in the Bucks team, was rewarded for an accurate spell with the final wicket.
The Bucks innings followed a similar pattern.
The game swung dramatically Bucks's way in the final session of the second day, when Cambridgeshire sensationally collapsed from 50-3 to 66 all out, losing their last seven wickets for 16 runs in 12.
This left Bucks only 50 for victory.
Following a hard-earned draw between Staffordshire and Suffolk, the result secured a division title for Bucks as Staffs held out at 285/7.

Bucks Cricket can confirm that Bertie Foreman has re-joined Kent Cricket for the remainder of the 2026 Rothesay County Championship.
The all-rounder joined Bucks at the start of the season and has since scored three half-centuries and taken 30 wickets in a Bucks Men's shirt.
Everybody at Bucks Cricket wishes Bertie the very best of luck.

Bucks Men's hopes of reaching the Finals Day in the National Counties T20 competition were dashed when they lost by 86 runs in the Super 12s decider at Exeter on Sunday.
Having beaten Wiltshire by three wickets earlier in the day, Bucks were full of confidence going into their clash against the hosts.
Choosing to bat first, Devon got off to a flying start with 17 runs from the first over, bowled by Matt Pardoe.
But fine spells from Archie Dodds (3-13 off 3 overs), Teddy Fleming (2-23 off 3), and skipper Conner Haddow (1- 25 off 4) restricted them to a still challenging 178-7 off their 20 overs.
Bucks raced to 31-1 off 3.
In their first match of the day, Bucks were always on top against Wiltshire, who made a calamitous start, losing their first four wickets for just one run in the first 11 balls bowled by Pardoe and Archie Dodds.
After a slight recovery, Fleming (3-10 in 15 balls) mopped up the tail, and Wiltshire were dismissed for 107 in 18.
Bucks batters also struggled and eventually got home with three wickets and 4.

Cheshire won the toss and elected to bat, and Leicestershire loanee Lucy Western was the standout performer for the visitors. On a flat Wycombe wicket, with the heat beating down on the outfield, Bucks Women were up against it throughout the full 50-over allocation after being asked to bowl first. Tash MacBean was the pick of the bowlers. Partnerships came and went for Cheshire throughout the innings, but Western never let up during her 137-ball knock, smashing her side to a formidable 339 with 31 boundaries. With Bucks facing a daunting target, openers Molly Carter and Annie Townsend provided the perfect counter-attack as they put on a brilliant 87-run first-wicket partnership. Bishop's innings, which included 11 boundaries, came to an end and brought captain Cara Duggan to the crease, who continued to press on alongside Carter. Carter sadly fell short of her maiden Bucks Women century after she was dismissed for a brilliant 91 from 135 balls, finding the boundary on 13 occasions. After a quick flurry of wickets, Bucks' hopes of victory rested with Carys Gerber, whose gritty knock of 36 from 35 balls was superb. In a match of fluctuating fortunes, the hosts eventually reached their victory target of 221 with nearly nine overs to spare. Following a delayed start of almost four hours due to rain on Sunday, Bucks initially struggled after choosing to bat first. They were revived by a ninth-wicket partnership of 76 between Ed Bragg, who recorded a Bucks career-best 57, and skipper Conner Haddow (42), helping them reach 257 from 80. That total proved enough to give Bucks a first-innings lead of 45 as the hosts slipped from 86-1 to 212 all out, despite 57 from Ross Whitfield. Bucks failed to build on that advantage. With plenty of time to reach their target of 221, Northumberland were rarely troubled thanks to a splendid unbeaten 106 from Sol Bell, supported by Bushnell's unbeaten 57. Wiltshire won the toss and elected to bowl. Woodward played nicely, punishing the bad balls, and made her way to 21 before finding mid-on with a lofted shot, leaving Bucks Women 46/2 after 10 overs. Mohamed pushed on alongside Cara Duggan, and the pair took Bucks past three figures before Duggan and Carys Gerber both fell in the 20th over, leaving the hosts 104/4. Mohamed was bowled shortly afterwards for a brilliant 63 from 73 balls, and Bucks looked to be in big trouble as they collapsed from 113/4 to 124/9 in a matter of overs. With their backs against the wall, Charlie Mailey and Tash MacBean dug in and put together what proved to be a match-defining 10th-wicket partnership of 28. MacBean (8) was the final wicket to fall for Bucks, while Mailey finished 13 not out to take her side to 152 all out from 37 overs. With a relatively low target to defend, the bowling effort had to be special, and special it was from Wani. Katie Dolman (5) and Isla Thomson (6) were both dismissed by debutant Katie Wolfe, but opener Emma Godman guided her side to the halfway mark in the run chase. That was until Wani beat Godman's bat and dismissed the opener for 35. From there, a flurry of wickets from spinners Wani, Eva Lewis and MacBean reduced Wiltshire to 119/8, leaving the visitors needing another 34 runs to win.
