Foreman to join Kent until end of the season

Bucks Cricket can confirm that Bertie Foreman has re-joined Kent Cricket for the remainder of the 2026 Rothesay County Championship.

The all-rounder joined Bucks at the start of the season and has since scored three half-centuries and taken 30 wickets in a Bucks Men's shirt.

Everybody at Bucks Cricket wishes Bertie the very best of luck.

“Bertie has been amazing since he has come back into the fold - showing the levels of a first class cricketer in both talent and attitude - we are all delighted with his news.

— Jason Harrison, Head of Performance

Harrison also said earlier this season: "National Counties cricket serves two key purposes: firstly, to provide some of the most competitive competitions just below first-class level, and secondly, to give players the opportunity to showcase their skills and move up the ladder, as Bertie has done.

Bucks Men Bow Out in Quarter Final

Bucks Men's hopes of reaching the Finals Day in the National Counties T20 competition were dashed when they lost by 86 runs in the Super 12s decider at Exeter on Sunday.

Having beaten Wiltshire by three wickets earlier in the day, Bucks were full of confidence going into their clash against the hosts.

Choosing to bat first, Devon got off to a flying start with 17 runs from the first over, bowled by Matt Pardoe.

But fine spells from Archie Dodds (3-13 off 3 overs), Teddy Fleming (2-23 off 3), and skipper Conner Haddow (1- 25 off 4) restricted them to a still challenging 178-7 off their 20 overs.

Bucks raced to 31-1 off 3.

In their first match of the day, Bucks were always on top against Wiltshire, who made a calamitous start, losing their first four wickets for just one run in the first 11 balls bowled by Pardoe and Archie Dodds.

After a slight recovery, Fleming (3-10 in 15 balls) mopped up the tail, and Wiltshire were dismissed for 107 in 18.

Bucks batters also struggled and eventually got home with three wickets and 4.

Nail-Biting Victory for Bucks Men

Image: Andy Bone, Sports Shots

Bucks Men boosted their hopes of retaining the National Counties Cluberly Championship title with a nail-biting 16-run victory over Suffolk in a low-scoring Division 1 East contest at Chesham on Tuesday.

On a pitch where batters were forced to work hard for their runs despite the fast outfield, Bucks secured a first-innings lead of 32 before setting their visitors a target of 215 for victory.

At 116-1, Suffolk looked strong favourites to claim their second win of the campaign.

Skipper Haddow claimed his 15th five-wicket haul in just 25 Championship matches with outstanding figures of 6-71 from 34 overs, while off-spinner Foreman finished with 4-86 from 33.

After electing to bat first, Bucks looked in serious trouble at lunch on the opening day, reaching 125-7 despite a fluent half-century from Ewan Cox (66).

An inspired spell from seamer Tom Weymes then reduced Suffolk to 58-6 in reply.

Bucks' top order struggled again in the second innings, slipping to 67-5 with an overall lead of just 99.

Set 215 to win, Suffolk closed the second day on 80-1.

The result moves Bucks to the top of the Division 1 East table with one Championship fixture remaining against Cambridgeshire at Peterborough from August 23 to 25.

Attention now turns to the National Counties T20 Super 12s this Sunday, when Bucks travel to Exeter to face Wiltshire in the eliminator.

Bucks Women Earn Dramatic Tie in Run-Fest

Image: Luke Stafford, Sports Shots

Bucks Women fought hard to secure a tie in a sensational match against Cheshire on Sunday, which saw nearly 700 runs scored in Metro Bank One Day Cup action.

Cheshire won the toss and elected to bat, and Leicestershire loanee Lucy Western was the standout performer for the visitors.

On a flat Wycombe wicket, with the heat beating down on the outfield, Bucks Women were up against it throughout the full 50-over allocation after being asked to bowl first.

Tash MacBean was the pick of the bowlers.

Partnerships came and went for Cheshire throughout the innings, but Western never let up during her 137-ball knock, smashing her side to a formidable 339 with 31 boundaries.

With Bucks facing a daunting target, openers Molly Carter and Annie Townsend provided the perfect counter-attack as they put on a brilliant 87-run first-wicket partnership.

Bishop's innings, which included 11 boundaries, came to an end and brought captain Cara Duggan to the crease, who continued to press on alongside Carter.

Carter sadly fell short of her maiden Bucks Women century after she was dismissed for a brilliant 91 from 135 balls, finding the boundary on 13 occasions.

After a quick flurry of wickets, Bucks' hopes of victory rested with Carys Gerber, whose gritty knock of 36 from 35 balls was superb.

It was a fantastic game and a superb advert for women's cricket, with the match fittingly ending in a tie.

Defeat for Bucks Men in Northumberland

Report: Michael Knox

Image: Andy Bone, Sports Shots

Bucks Men suffered their first defeat of the season in the National Counties Cluberly Championship as they went down by eight wickets to Northumberland in their Eastern Division One match at Benwell Hill on Tuesday.

In a match of fluctuating fortunes, the hosts eventually reached their victory target of 221 with nearly nine overs to spare.

Following a delayed start of almost four hours due to rain on Sunday, Bucks initially struggled after choosing to bat first.

They were revived by a ninth-wicket partnership of 76 between Ed Bragg, who recorded a Bucks career-best 57, and skipper Conner Haddow (42), helping them reach 257 from 80.

That total proved enough to give Bucks a first-innings lead of 45 as the hosts slipped from 86-1 to 212 all out, despite 57 from Ross Whitfield.

Bucks failed to build on that advantage.

With plenty of time to reach their target of 221, Northumberland were rarely troubled thanks to a splendid unbeaten 106 from Sol Bell, supported by Bushnell's unbeaten 57.

Bucks, who comfortably beat Staffordshire in their opening Eastern Division One match, will look to return to winning ways when they entertain Suffolk at Chesham in a three-day match starting this Sunday.

Wani Wickets Wins It for Bucks Women

Image: Luke Stafford, Sports Shots

Zaynah Wani starred with an incredible six-wicket haul for Bucks Women as they successfully defended 152 against Wiltshire on Sunday in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Wiltshire won the toss and elected to bowl.

Woodward played nicely, punishing the bad balls, and made her way to 21 before finding mid-on with a lofted shot, leaving Bucks Women 46/2 after 10 overs.

Mohamed pushed on alongside Cara Duggan, and the pair took Bucks past three figures before Duggan and Carys Gerber both fell in the 20th over, leaving the hosts 104/4.

Mohamed was bowled shortly afterwards for a brilliant 63 from 73 balls, and Bucks looked to be in big trouble as they collapsed from 113/4 to 124/9 in a matter of overs.

With their backs against the wall, Charlie Mailey and Tash MacBean dug in and put together what proved to be a match-defining 10th-wicket partnership of 28.

MacBean (8) was the final wicket to fall for Bucks, while Mailey finished 13 not out to take her side to 152 all out from 37 overs.

With a relatively low target to defend, the bowling effort had to be special, and special it was from Wani.

Katie Dolman (5) and Isla Thomson (6) were both dismissed by debutant Katie Wolfe, but opener Emma Godman guided her side to the halfway mark in the run chase.

That was until Wani beat Godman's bat and dismissed the opener for 35.

From there, a flurry of wickets from spinners Wani, Eva Lewis and MacBean reduced Wiltshire to 119/8, leaving the visitors needing another 34 runs to win.

Jemima Carroll played brilliantly for 23 and brought the travelling side within 18 runs before MacBean claimed a caught and bowled.

With 17 runs still needed, Wani wrapped up her stellar bowling performance with her sixth and final wicket, sealing a fantastic win for Bucks Women at High Wycombe CC.

Bucks Men began the defence of their National Counties Cluberly Championship title with a resounding 187-run win over Staffordshire in their Eastern Division 1 match at Chesham on Tuesday.

A stellar all-round performance from Bertie Foreman and excellent bowling displays from skipper Conner Haddow plus seamers Tom Weymes and Ed Bragg saw Bucks home with more than three hours to spare in this three-day match.

It did not look good for Bucks on the first morning when they slipped to 36-4 after choosing to bat first.

The Staffordshire top order also struggled, slumping to 44-5 against inspired bowling from Weymes and Bragg.

At the age of 35, Weymes (5-56) returned his first five-wicket haul for Bucks and was later awarded his county cap.

In their second innings, Bucks built on their lead with most batters passing 20.

This left Staffordshire all the final day to reach their formidable target of 385.

But it all went wrong after lunch as they lost four wickets for one run in 17 balls to the spin of Foreman and Haddow.

Five players made their Championship debuts for Bucks, namely Pardoe, Foreman, Josh Lincoln, Aum Raykar and new signing from Middlesex, Aaryan Sawant.

Bucks Men's next game in the Championship is against Northumberland on July 26-28.

Cara Caps 100th Appearance with Victory

Before play on Sunday, Cara Duggan was presented with a milestone Bucks Women's cap at High Wycombe CC in recognition of being the first ever Bucks Women's player to reach the 100 appearances for the county, ahead of the Bucks Women v Shropshire match.

Bucks Cricket CEO Rich Hudson said during the presentation: "This marks a special piece of Bucks history as Cara becomes the first player to reach 100 appearances for Bucks Women.

"To have a leader who has come all the way through our pathway, who is so passionate about representing Bucks, supporting the group and welcoming new players, has been outstanding.

"Seeing players go on to compete at the highest level is always special, but having someone demonstrate this level of commitment and quality for Bucks is just as important.

Women's Lead Coach Ben Ungaretti could not be prouder of Duggan: "Congratulations to Cara on reaching the incredible milestone of 100 caps.

"Working with Cara for the past three years, it has been a privilege to see first-hand the commitment, passion and professionalism she brings to the team.

"Her dedication to improving herself and helping those around her has been clear throughout my time with the team.

"Reaching 100 caps is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work and commitment she has shown over many years.

"Congratulations, Cara, on a truly deserved milestone.

As for the match action, Bucks displayed a brilliant run chase after a tough 50 overs toiling away in the heat, and came out comfortable victors over Shropshire in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Shropshire won the toss and elected to bat.

Just 2 overs later, Bucks claimed the wicket of Olivia Smith (4), with MacBean pegging back the travelling side to 41/2.

Shropshire weren't pegged back for long, as Millie Parry and Sastry put together a 54-run partnership in just 8 overs, bringing them just shy of 100 inside 16 overs.

Hannah Davis was next to make the breakthrough for Bucks, trapping Parry (14) lbw.

With Bucks creating some strong pressure, Shropshire showed resilience, and built another strong partnership through Lara Jones and Alex Hale.

The partnership was worth 59 before Davis was once again in the wickets column with another lbw - Alex Hale dismissed for a well-made 21 from 45 balls.

Despite the wickets, runs continued to flow for Shropshire, and Jones was smashing boundaries alongside Harriet Shuker (23).

With only a few overs remaining, Tegan Stockdale's over saw 2 wickets fall in 1 over, but with Captain Jones batting until the end, finishing on 63 not out and taking Shropshire to 268 from their 50 overs.

In return, Bucks were superb.

It was fitting to see Duggan take her team over the line, and doing so with plenty of boundaries of her own.

Bucks Women secured their first Metro Bank One Day Cup victory of the season by 5 wickets, and chased the total in 44.
