Bucks Men staged a strong turn-around to share the honours with Bedfordshire in their NCCA Dojo T20 - Group 3 double-header at Leighton Buzzard on Sunday.

After losing the first group match by seven wickets, Bucks defeated the hosts by 107 runs in the second game to finish the day on a high note.

After being put into bat in the first game, Bucks were well-placed at 112-3 after 11 overs thanks to cameos from Rhys Nicholas (46), Josh Lincoln (35 from 14 balls) and Aadi Sharma (34).

Beds cruised home at 165-3 in 15.

The second game also appeared to be going Bedfordshire's way when Bucks slipped to 77-5 after choosing to bat first.

Nicholas made 62 off 48 balls with three sixes and three fours, but he was outshone by Fleming whose unbeaten 66 came off just 38 balls with six sixes and three fours.

Bucks reached 192-7 from their 20 overs.

Once Dunk had been dismissed, the Beds reply fell away dramatically as pace-off bowling and some safe catching in the deep saw them collapse to 85 all out in 14.

Bucks Women Fall to Formidable Staffordshire

Tilly Fellows produced a standout unbeaten innings of 84, striking 13 boundaries in a fluent display during Game Two for Bucks Women.

Game One saw Bucks Women asked to bat by the travelling side, and they set a very competitive 166.

Despite early wickets from Charlie Mailey, who dismissed both openers for 12 and 1 respectively, Megan Pittman (70*) and Ava Clive (75*) showed their class with a formidable 148-run partnership to secure the win in Game One.

Once again, Bucks batted first in Game Two, and this time it was Tilly Fellows (84*) who steered her side to an improved total of 171 with some incredible ball striking around Ascott Estate, a brilliant innings off just 40 balls.

With first place up for grabs, a victory for either side would be enough to secure a place in the Vitality Blast final.

Full credit to Staffordshire, who came out winners in Game Two and secured first place in<a href="https://buckscricket.

Head Coach Ben Ungaretti reflects on a testing day in the heat: "Obviously disappointed to miss out on the T20 final after losing both games yesterday, but full credit to Staffordshire.

Lancashire Thunder test awaits Bucks Women

Annie Townsend (51) and Cara Duggan (44) steered Bucks Women into Round 3 of the Vitality T20 Women's County Cup with a 56-run victory over Norfolk at Ascott Estate.

After a superb 91-run partnership, Townsend's brilliant innings, featuring seven boundaries, came to an end following an incredible one-handed catch by Georgia Demetriou at cow corner.

Duggan continued to accelerate and featured in a 19-run over alongside Tilly Fellows before eventually being dismissed for a well-made 44.

Amy Morris was the pick of the bowlers for the away side, who recently defeated Tier 2 Sussex, claiming 3-26 from four overs.

Bucks finished their 20 overs on 157-7, which looked a strong total on a difficult wicket.

In reply, Bucks "put in a clinical performance", as described by Head Coach Ben Ungaretti, with Zaynah Wani leading the way by taking 4-16 from four overs.

Despite Niamh Rushton and Jade Hoyte scoring 23 runs each, Wani's wickets, alongside Bucks' exemplary fielding, mounted pressure on Norfolk.

Tash MacBean produced a smart tip onto the stumps to dismiss opener Bella Borges, while catches from Tegan Stockdale and Fellows ensured the away side fell short of 157, as Bucks booked themselves a huge third-round clash against Lancashire Thunder.

Bucks Men gained a hard-earned two-wicket win over Cornwall at Tring Park on Sunday to secure a home quarter-final in the NCCA NV Play Trophy.

There was only one over left when George Harvey struck the match-winning boundary after nail-biting contest to leave Bucks top of their group with four wins out of four.

It means that Bucks will now entertain Berkshire in the last eight of the 50-over competition at High Wycombe on Sunday June 7.

Bucks skipper Conner Haddow put Cornwall into bat and did most to restrict the visitors to 210-9 from their 50 overs.

Despite a robust 67 from 86 balls by Paul Smith, Cornwall struggled to set a challenging total on a flat pitch and fast outfield.

Billy Dodds, with 40 from 73 balls, laid a solid platform for Bucks's reply alongside Great Brickhill debutant Rhys Nicholas, who overcame a circumspect start to score a valuable 35.

The match was still on a knife-edge with Bucks on 104-3 after 30 overs when the game was held up for 35 minutes by a shower.

On resumption with no loss of overs, Bucks lost wickets when they looked in a winning position before Harvey, with an unbeaten 30 from 32 balls, saw them over the line with an over to spare.

Bucks Women Split Weekend Against Cheshire

Bucks Women leave Warrington with one win and plenty of positives, as they sit top of the table in <a href="https://buckscricket.

Photo: Luke Stafford - Sports Shots

A flurry of wickets in Game One saw Bucks dominate the hosts early on with the ball, pegging back Cheshire to 34/4 at the halfway stage - wickets shared with Cara Duggan, Hannah Davis and Natasha MacBean.

There was no let-up from Bucks, as they continued to create pressure, reducing the home side to 52/9 after just 16 overs - Molly Carter involved this time with 2 wickets in 3 balls.

Batters Emily Page and Carys Lambe put together a spirited 20-run 10th wicket partnership, and saw their side bat through the full 20 overs to post a score of 71/9.

Runs from Afra Rose Mohamed (23) and Duggan (34) got Bucks to well within the winning total, but not at a cruise, as Cheshire were able to take 5 wickets before the total was chased in the 16th over.

With scores level, Duggan unfortunately was run out, and Carys Gerber was left in charge of hitting the winning runs, which she did so with over 4 overs to spare.

Onto Game Two, which saw Cheshire bat first once again, but this time posting a decent total through opener and captain Ellie Mason, who scored a blistering 72 from 52 balls, including 13x 4s.

Although her teammates were not able to add similar scores to the total, the hosts finished their 20 overs with a much-improved 133/6.

In reply, both openers Mohame and Rosie Burton-Pye fell for no score, and at one stage were 3/3 after Tegan Stockdale (1) was caught & bowled by Rebecca Othick.

Despite spirited knocks from Tilly Fellows (21) and Davis (32*), wickets continued to fall for Bucks, and they fell 46 runs short with Molly Carter the last to be dismissed.

Bucks Women remain top of the table on 15 points, with hosts Cheshire in 2nd place on 10 points heading into their next round of fixtures.

Foreman to join Kent on short-term deal

Bucks Cricket can confirm that Bertie Foreman has joined Kent Cricket on a two-month deal covering the Rothesay County Championship and Vitality Blast, subject to ECB clearance.

The all-rounder joined Bucks at the start of the season and has been a great addition to the Bucks Men’s squad.

Everybody at Bucks Cricket wishes Bertie the very best of luck.

“It’s fantastic news that Bertie has secured a short-term deal with Kent.

National Counties cricket serves two key purposes: firstly, to provide some of the most competitive competitions just below first-class level, and secondly, to give players the opportunity to showcase their skills and move up the ladder, as Bertie has done.

Three in Three for Bucks Men

Bucks Men move closer to securing their place in the quarter-finals of the NCCA NV Play Trophy with a convincing 76-run victory over Dorset at Tring Park on Sunday.

It was Bucks's third victory in three games and leaves them top of the group with one game to play.

Bucks who were put in to bat, opened uniquely with a pair of brothers Billy and Archie Dodds, the latter being promoted up the order following the withdrawal of Sheridon Gumbs.

The fluent Pardoe scored 58 from 62 balls with a six and six fours to set up a useful platform.

Further contributions from George Harvey, Bertie Foreman and Josh Lincoln, whose 39 came off only 22 balls, lifted Bucks to 264-8 from their 50 overs on the hybrid pitch

Tom Weymes struck with the first ball of his spell but a second-wicket stand of 96 between opener Dylan Church and Joseph Eckland put the visitors in a strong position of 96-1 after 20 overs.

But then Bucks spinners, led by skipper Conner Haddow (2-21), took control, with support from Bertie Foreman (3-28) and Pardoe (2-24).

After Church fell for 78, the Dorset innings subsided to 188 all out in 46.

Match Preview: Bucks Women v Cheshire (A)

Bucks Women travel to Warrington Sports Club on Sunday to face Cheshire (A) in the next set of Vitality Blast Women’s League 3 Division 1B matches, as they look to continue their winning form.

Women's Head Coach Ben Ungaretti has named a 12-player squad:

Cara Duggan*

Rosie Burton-Pye

Molly Carter

Hannah Davis (Middlesex)

Evie Dixon

Tilly Fellows +

Carys Gerber

Eva Lewis

Natasha MacBean

Charlie Mailey

Afra Rose Mohamed

Tegan Stockdale

Hannah Davis joins the squad on loan.

Ben Ungaretti knows the hosts will offer a tough test: Cheshire are sitting just one place below us in the table, so we know exactly how competitive these two matches will be.

We’ve spoken a lot about consistency and maintaining our standards across both games.

Bucks Men face Dorset in their third <a href="https://buckscricket.

Men's Head Coach Jason Harrison has named a 13-player squad:

Conner Haddow*

Ed Bragg

Archie Dodds

Billy Dodds

Bertie Foreman

Ryan Friend

Sheridon Gumbs

George Harvey +

Josh Lincoln

Matt Pardoe

Aadi Sharma

Max Uttley

Tom Weymes

Josh Lincoln on last week's victory: The Oxfordshire seamers had bowled really well up top on what was a testing wicket to bat on.

It’s never ideal going in at number 7 with less than 100 on the board, but for me the process doesn’t change.

It was key to assess the conditions as quickly as possible when I got to the crease, but I’d decided that a counter punch was probably the best way to swing momentum back in our favour and fortunately it went my way on the day.

Lincoln is excited to go again on Sunday: There’s a real air of excitement around the squad.

They’re a great outfit and I can see the game on the weekend being extremely competitive, with a lot of quality on show from both sides.

We’re obviously hoping that we can go 3 from 3 and continue to build upon the great start that we’ve made.

Temoor Alam named in England 60s World Cup squad

Congratulations to Temoor Alam!

Representing Buckinghamshire at senior county level, Temoor has earned selection in the England 60s squad for August’s Over-60s World Cup.

After making his England 60s debut against Australia last summer, Temoor marked the occasion with a 50 to help level the Grey Ashes series at 1-1.

England 60s Press Release

The England 60s International Committee have announced a 16-player squad for August’s International Masters Cricket Over-60s World Cup in Canada.

The squad has been selected after an extensive trial process, which included a two-day training camp at Loughborough in March and an intra-squad match last week (30th April).

Edward Gordon Lennox will lead the side with Steve Aston, Phil Deakin, Nick Gaywood, Mel Hussain, and Simon Routh also selected for their second World Cup after representing England in 2024.

Temoor Alam, Neil Brathwaite, Mel Dobson, Paul Radage and Mark Wilson, who all appeared in the 2025 Grey Ashes, are also part of the squad.

After impressing on the Lions tour to India earlier this year, Phil Hillson and Vince Mulholland make their first England squad, with Muhammad Zahid Ali Kawish, who took four wickets in September’s England v Lions match, joining them.

Staffordshire’s Mick Haynes and Hampshire’s Alan Whitman complete the squad after impressing during the trial process, meaning 10 counties are represented across the 16 players.

Paul Bradley is once again fulfilling the role of manager, having done so since 2022.

The World Cup runs from 9th to 23rd August in Mississauga, Canada, with England looking to improve on their runners-up finish at their maiden World Cup appearance two years ago in Chennai, India.

The squad’s first outing together is on May 14th at Marton CC against Scotland, with further games against Wales (18th June) and an England Over-50s Lions side (24th July) to come before heading off to Canada.

Squad

Temoor Alam (Buckinghamshire), Steve Aston (Staffordshire), Neil Brathwaite (Essex), Phil Deakin (Lancashire), Mel Dobson (Cheshire), Nick Gaywood (Yorkshire), Edward Gordon Lennox (Captain, Gloucestershire), Mick Haynes (Staffordshire), Phil Hillson (Essex), Mel Hussain (Vice Captain, Essex), Vince Mulholland (Essex), Paul Radage (Cheshire), Simon Routh (Kent), Alan Whitman (Hampshire), Mark Wilson (Yorkshire), Muhammad Zahid Ali Kawish (Yorkshire), Paul Bradley (Manager, Lincolnshire).

Image: Andy Bone - Sports Shots

A spectacular innings by Josh Lincoln helped Bucks Men defeat Oxfordshire by 109 runs in their second National Counties Trophy group game at Thame Town CC on Sunday.

Having been put in to bat on a slow pitch, Bucks were really struggling at 100-6 from 32 overs before Lincoln, playing only his second game of the county, transformed the game.

Lincoln and Ed Bragg, who scored 42 from 44 balls, added 123 for the seventh wicket in just 12 overs and enabled Bucks to reach an impressive 257-8 from their 50 overs.

The hosts struggled to get going after losing skipper Harrison Ward in the first over of their reply.

Following their two wins, Bucks Men top Group 4 and will be hoping to move closer to a place in the knock-out stages of this competition when they host Dorset at Tring Park this Sunday.

Report: Michael Knox

Image: Andy Bone - Sports Shots

Newcomer Bertie Foreman produced an excellent all-round display to help Bucks secure a dramatic eight-run victory over Wales NC in their National Counties Trophy opener at Usk on Sunday.

The former Sussex player followed a half-century with three wickets as Bucks squeezed home in their first group game in this 50-overs competition.

Bucks, put in to bat by the hosts, made a slow start, falling to 39-4 to the bowling of Ollie Sherwood (4-44).

Further useful contributions from Ed Bragg (34) and skipper Conner Haddow (21) helped Bucks reach 216 all out in their 50 overs.

Archie Dodds (3-30) struck early for Bucks as Wales also made a slow start against the new ball, slipping to 23-3.

Spinners Foreman (3-25) and Haddow (2-29) worked their way through the middle order to leave Wales struggling at 177-8.

Round Two awaits Bucks Women

Bucks Women reach Round 2 of the Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup in dramatic fashion, defeating Suffolk with just one ball to spare on Sunday.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Bucks Women started up with a maiden over from Natasha MacBean.

After an expensive third over from MacBean, a second wicket was taken by Cara Duggan, getting the ball to swing considerably into Evie Brooker's middle/leg stump.

Momentum was hard to come by for the home side, and Bucks continued to mount pressure by restricting the hosts to no boundaries in 5 consecutive overs.

Eva Lewis was next to strike taking two-in-two, dismissing Charlotte Anderson (31) and Megan Haynes for a golden duck, reducing Suffolk to 63/4 after 12 overs.

Sky Springett then followed up with a wicket of her own in the 13th over, before conceding 17 runs from her next over to Sophie Hughes, who was looking to push the tempo.

Hughes kept the runs flowing deep into the Suffolk innings before finally falling to MacBean for an excellent 54 from 38 balls.

A very measured start saw Rosie Burton-Pye and Afra Rose Mohamed pick their moments as they put on an impressive 69-run opening partnership before Burton-Pye was run out for 39.

Duggan next in, and the steady runs continued to flow for Bucks until the skipper was trapped LBW for 15, leaving her side 24 runs to win from 22 balls.

After a brief wobble of Tegan Stockdale being dismissed for 4, Tilly Fellows stepped up with a brilliant 19th over.

Despite an incredibly tight over from Analise Merritt, Mohamed was able to squeeze the winning run with just one ball to spare, sealing an incredibly close victory for Bucks, and booking their place in Round 2.

Captain Cara Duggan is delighted with her team: The girls played brilliantly!

Tilly took on the challenge with all of us backing her.

Eva has settled so nicely into the team!

Very excited for what's to come this season!

Victory from Bucks Women sees them through to Round 2 of the <a href="https://buckscricket.

Cara Duggan hopes her side can carry on from Sunday's success: Sunday was an amazing start for us as a team, two wins from two is a brilliant base for all of us.

Everyone put in hard work, batting, bowling, and fielding, and we deservedly took both games away from Herts.

Our fielding shone through as a highlight, with everyone diving and throwing themselves into every aspect!
