Batting first in both games, Bucks posted 153/7 and 163/6 respectively in front of a well-spirited crowd at Wormsley Cricket Ground.

It was a debut to remember for Essex Academy loanee Amelie Bishop, as she starred with the bat, top scoring in Game One (40) and Game Two (73).

Debutant Afra Rose Mohamed opened up with 21 runs, and Tilly Fellows smashed 37 from just 22 balls in Game One, finding the boundary six times on her way to posting 153.

After a steady start from Hertfordshire, Bucks took 3 wickets in 4 overs through Natasha MacBean and a Tegan Stockdale run out, which restricted the visitors to 24/3 in the power play.

Bishop followed up with a wicket in her first over, and Herts found themselves 39/4 at the halfway stage.

The clinical bowling continued, with MacBean finishing her 4-over spell with 3-17, and debutant Eva Lewis opened her account for Bucks with 2 wickets.

It was a brilliant all-round display from Bucks Women in Game One, and they sealed a comfortable 69-run victory.

After batting first once again, it was the Townsend and Bishop show as they ran up the total in an explosive 71-ball partnership, bringing Bucks up to an improved total of 163/6.

Elizabeth Clune was the pick of the bowlers for Hertfordshire as she picked up 3-25 from 4 overs.

Once again, it was a steady start from Herts before losing 3 wickets in one eventful MacBean over, with Bishop taking two catches and Cara Duggan running out Reese Nash with a direct hit.

That didn’t stop the away side’s momentum for too long as they reached 55/3 with 10 overs to go, before Lewis struck with back-to-back LBWs, reducing Hertfordshire to 58/5.

There was hope for the visitors after a costly Stockdale over went for 15 runs before she made amends with a wicket on the final ball of the 14th over.

After a spirited effort from Eva Cullen (39), she fell in the final over of the run chase to Charlie Mailey, and they fell 47 runs short of the total.

Two very impressive displays from Bucks in their season opener see them top of the table on 10 points, including 2 bonus points which could prove to be crucial come the end of the season.

Josh Lincoln signs for Bucks

Welcome to Buckinghamshire, Josh Lincoln!

The former Berkshire all-rounder will join up with Bucks Men for the upcoming 2026 season.

Josh joins Bucks Cricket with five years of National Counties experience at Berkshire, including a match-defining 124 (98) in the NCCA Championship Final 2024, as well as a five-wicket-haul (5-52) against Devon last season.

We spoke with our latest signing ahead of his move across the border and asked him what he's aiming to achieve in 2026.

Here’s what he had to say:

Q1.

Answer: Yes, I’m very much looking forward to meeting up with the squad.

Q2.

Answer: I’m a middle-order batsman and seaming all-rounder coming into my fifth year of NCCA cricket, having played the past four with my childhood county, Berkshire.

Q3.

Answer: Over recent years, Bucks have had great success in the red ball, winning two out of the past three Championship Finals.

First and foremost, the goal is to win silverware.

Men's Captain Conner Haddow is delighted with the arrival: "I’m buzzing, to be honest.

"He’s one of those players who contributes in all departments and raises the standard around him.

"With the ball, he has great skills at the death, which is massive in tight games.

"Overall, he’s the kind of player who can impact games in multiple ways, and I’m certain he’ll contribute in a lot of games for us this season.

CEO - End of 2025 Reflections

As the year draws to a close, this is a message first and foremost to thank everyone involved in cricket in Buckinghamshire for their efforts through the year.

There are no silver bullets for success.

For Junior Cricketers and their Parents: put the enjoyment of the game first (players who enjoy cricket stay in the game longer and improve more over time), then put the will to improve second and work on all areas of your game (skills, physical, tactical and emotional).

Enjoyment and continual improvement will take you further than heaping pressure on yourself to perform.

For Clubs: the most sustainable clubs we see are those that invest deliberately in people, not just teams - continually building a broad volunteer base and ensuring the Cricket Club is a place the whole family wants to spend their summer evenings and weekends.

Please keep investing time and effort - and getting the right coaches and organisers on board – in Women and Girls’ Cricket.

Bucks Cricket is primarily a team of development officers and coaches.

We have published the Bucks Cricket CIO Impact Report for 2025, available on our website here: <a href="https://buckscricket.

To pick out three highlights from the season:

Clubs collectively had 49 Girls’ teams that played in 262 fixtures in Bucks Girls’ Leagues - a 70% fixture increase from 2024

Bucks Cricket was awarded ‘County Board of the Year’ by the MCC Foundation for our work developing talented cricketers from State Schools

Bucks Men won the NCCA Championship for the second time in three seasons, with three debutants this year who have come through the County Player Pathway

Bucks Cricket is entering into a new strategic cycle from 2026 to 2028 - having successfully presented our strategy to the ECB, and this Autumn having received ECB ‘Ready to Invest’ status, where they will match-fund new community programmes we are looking to set up.

We are looking for Sponsors for the next three years.
We have been delighted that this Autumn, we have received funding from The Clare Foundation, HS2 Ltd and the Rothschild Foundation to take cricket into our urban areas (particularly Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and High Wycombe) to those who would not otherwise be able to access it, whether that’s due to cost, cultural or confidence barriers – and then hopefully transition participants into Clubs for lifelong participation.

Bucks Cricket became a charity in 2023.

You can follow all the latest updates from Bucks Cricket on <a href="https://www.

That’s everything from me, for now.

Wishing everyone an enjoyable Christmas and festive season.

Many thanks,

Cara Duggan to captain Bucks Women

We are delighted to share that Cara Duggan has been confirmed as the Buckinghamshire Women’s Captain for the 2026 season, continuing her role for a fourth year.

The all-rounder began her journey with Bucks Girls U11s, and after scoring 1000 runs and 50 wickets for Bucks Women 1st XI, became our 9th Women's Capped Player.

Cara took on the role of Captain in 2023, and enjoyed some success by reaching the Tier 3 Vitality Blast Final, as well as a 4th placed finish in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

We spoke with our Women’s Captain and asked her what we can expect in the upcoming 2026 season.

Here’s what she had to say:

Q1.

Answer: It feels really good, I love the girls and Bucks is my home.

Q2.

Answer: Yes definitely.

Q3.

Answer: I know the girls are at their best when I'm at my best.

Women's Lead Coach, Ben Ungaretti expressed his excitement: "Cara’s reappointment as Captain reflects both her consistency and her influence on the wider squad.

"From a coach perspective, her standards set the tone for how we prepare, compete and carry ourselves.

"She brings clarity in decision making, a calm presence in pressure moments and a genuine commitment to developing the players around her.

"Her leadership has been a stabilising force for Bucks cricket, and another season with her at the helm gives us continuity, ambition and a competitive edge.

"I’m confident the group will continue to grow under her guidance and that she will lead with the same integrity and drive that earned her this role again.
