Bucks Men Qualify for NCCA Cluberly Championship Final
3 Sep 2025

For the second time in three years, Bucks Men have reached the NCCA Cluberly Championship final after a nail-biting day on Tuesday. With their final Eastern Division 1 match against Lincolnshire at High Wycombe abandoned as a draw, everything depended on the other group game between Cambridgeshire and Staffordshire at Peterborough, which was virtually unaffected by the weather.

Staffordshire needed to win to overtake Bucks at the top of the table, but their hosts, needing 224 for victory, hung on for a draw at 222-9, the last pair surviving the final two overs.

So Bucks, who finished five points clear of Suffolk at the top, will now play Western Division 1 champions Devon in a repeat of the 2023 final at West Bromwich Dartmouth in a four-day final starting this Sunday.

Rain ruined the Bucks clash with Lincolnshire with only about 100 overs possible over the three days, the last of which was completely washed out.

Thanks to a brilliant century from Joe Pocklington, Lincolnshire recovered from 27-3 to 308 all out after winning the toss. Pocklington made 153 from 149 balls with five sixes and 21 fours. Teddy Fleming was Bucks's most successful bowler with 4-83 in the absence of fellow left-arm spinner Conner Haddow, who was playing for Northants 2nd XI. Bucks replied with 90-2, Great Brickhill debutant Taran Toor unbeaten 38. Scorecard

Now all eyes turn to West Bromwich Dartmouth this weekend.

Captain Alexei Kervezee is very proud of his team: The boys and coaching staff are absolutely over the moon to make the final. Great achievement for the side and I’m absolutely thrilled for everyone involved.

Unfortunately due to our game being heavily hit by the weather, a lot was out of our control. We spent large parts watching the Cambridgeshire vs Staffordshire game which went down to the wire and kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
