Bucks Women Win in Warrington
26 Aug 2025

Bucks Women travelled to Warrington Sports Club on Sunday and defeated Cheshire by 69 runs in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Match report from Captain Natasha MacBean:

The pitch appeared to suit a team full of spinners, which we had. On winning the toss we chose to bat first.

It proved to be a hard wicket to bat on. Amelia Ridgeway stood out in the top order with an impressive 62. Wickets continued to fall after Amelia departed. A 70 run partnership between myself and debutant Kerthanaa, steadied the ship and allowed us to post a respectable score.

We made a good start to the 2nd innings, our openers had Cheshire 18-4 after 10 overs. Our bowlers continued to demonstrate their talent and a steady stream of wickets fell. Molly Carter impressed with her 4 wickets. Carys Gerber and Caia Stockdale took their opportunity, demonstrated their skills and took wickets at key times.

The group were thrilled to welcome Olivia Bell from Lancashire. She showed her quality with good bowling figures and tactical know how.

Women's Lead Coach Ben Ungaretti was delighted with the win: The team produced a fantastic away win against Cheshire, showcasing both quality and maturity despite fielding a young and relatively inexperienced side.

Our senior players led from the front, stepping up at key moments and guiding the team with composure, while the younger members rose to the challenge with confidence and determination.

The result puts us in a brilliant position as we head towards potentially another finals day, with two very important games to come.

It’s an exciting time for the squad, and a real credit to the hard work, resilience, and team spirit shown so far this season. We’re incredibly proud of everything the players have achieved and the season isn't finished yet.
