Conner Haddow to captain Bucks Men
4 Dec 2025

We are thrilled to announce that Conner Haddow has been appointed as the Buckinghamshire Men’s Captain for the 2026 season, taking over the role from Alexei Kervezee.

The left-arm spinner began his journey within the Bucks Pathway and has worked his way up to making over 60 appearances for the Men’s 1st XI.

Conner takes on the role of Captain having won two NCCA Championships (2023 & 2025) as well as divisional titles, and he is just six wickets away from reaching 200 in National Counties cricket.

We spoke with our new Men’s Captain and asked him what we can expect in the upcoming 2026 season.

Here’s what he had to say:

Q1. How does it feel to be named the new captain? What’s the overriding emotion right now?

Answer: It is a real honour to captain my native county. The feeling right now is pure excitement.

Q2. Many people know Conner Haddow the player, but what should they expect from Conner Haddow the captain?

Answer: I hope to be someone the players can trust and someone who leads by example. We can only control what we do as players, so our focus will be on making sure everyone feels comfortable and is in the best position to perform at their best.

Q3. What are your targets for 2026?

Answer: With Cubby [Alexei Kervezee] leaving after five seasons it will be a huge change. I want to thank him for everything he has done for the team and for me personally. He has had a massive impact on the field and off it and he will be sorely missed.

Q4. With Matt Pardoe joining the squad as vice-captain, how do you think his arrival will lift you and the players?

AnswerHaving Pards join us is a huge boost both on and off the pitch. Hopefully all the lads tap into his knowledge and use it to improve their game and I know I definitely will.

To finish I would like to thank the coaching staff and Bucks Cricket for this opportunity.

Head of Performance, Jason Harrison expressed his excitement: "With Conner, we have an outstanding individual who has come from the Pathway right the way through to the top of the playing side.

"His attitude and preparation his second-to-none - tools that will serve him well.

"We are all looking forward to the ride ahead."
