Simon Prodger

We are very sorry indeed to have to tell you that long-standing member Simon Prodger died suddenly over the Easter weekend.  He played for our Over 50s team from 2009 to 2014, captaining them for four of those years.  He also played 121 1stXI League matches for Harefield between 1994 and 2005. (8th on the all-time 1stXI League appearance list).Simon captained Harefield 1stXI from 1996 to 1999.

At the time of his death, he was Managing Director of the National Cricket Conference and Secretary of the Club Cricket Conference.  He was widely known, liked and respected in cricketing circles.  He played many years for Watford Town and then Harefield.  In his earlier years he was an outstanding hockey player, until injury curtailed his career.

The funeral will take place on Thursday 18 May at 3.20pm at West Herts Crematorium, North Chapel, High Elms Lane, Garston, Watford WD25 0JS and afterwards at Watford Town CC.
