Ron Hedley Prostate Cancer walk update
8 Jun 2023

A Joint Buckinghamshire CCC Over 60s/70s and Oxfordshire Over 60s Walk at the Wormsley Estate and Cricket Ground will take place on Wednesday 28th June.
The Estate and Ground is at Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire HP14 3YE.
Leave Stokenchurch and cross the M40 Motorway, the entrance to the Estate is about 1/2 mile on the right.
Follow signs to the cricket ground.

It will be great if Buckinghamshire CCC and Oxfordshire players, friends and families can support this walk in good numbers.

We are indebted to Sir Paul Getty's family and The Estate Management team for allowing us to walk around the Estate and visit the walled garden.

The meet will be at Stokenchurch Cricket Club, The Cricket Ground, Stokenchurch HP14 3TY.
Th ground is in the middle of the village just back from the main A40.

Tea/Coffee will be served from 945m and T shirts, caps, badges and booklets will be distributed.

At around 10.30am we will travel the short distance to The Wormsley Estate.
We will complete a leisurely walk around the Estate. The walk will visit the superb walled garden first, so do not be late.

After the walk everybody will be invited to watch the cricket match between Sir Paul Getty's Xl and The Crusaders, an Australian Touring team at one of the loveliest cricket grounds in England, maybe the World.
You will need to take a seat if staying to watch the cricket.

"Wenzel's The Bakers" are going to supply sandwiches for lunch and we are indebted to them for supporting another of our walks. We ask for a minimum donation of £5 for every walker joining us for lunch in addition to donating to The Bob Willis Fund/Rons March.

After the cricket we are delighted that Stokenchurch Cricket Club have offered to put on a barbecue. The cost to be confirmed. We are indebted to Glynis and Peter Langford
We will be holding a raffle too.

Please see the instruction sheet attached of how to donate to Ron's March and The Bob Willis Fund. It is important that you make a donation as we have costs for T shirts, caps etc before any money reaches The Bob Willis Fund or Prostate Cancer UK.
Our walks with Counties who play Over 60s County Cricket have so far raised over £15000.

Please be aware that The Warwickshire CCC Over 60s walk will be featured on SKY TV Cricket coverage of the Edgbaston Test Match commencing on Friday 16th June 2023.

If you have not already let me know if you will join us, please let me know asap as I have to confirm with Wenzel's of how many to cater for.
